November 2025

Dear Friend of Turning Point,

These are challenging times.

The safety net services our country created to take care of vulnerable people – the poor, the sick, the disabled – are being threatened.

Here at Turning Point, Inc. (TPI), we are facing a level of uncertainty that we have not seen in our fifty-year history.  As a nonprofit agency, we are deeply vulnerable to cuts in funding that provide the very basics of care for the adults we support.

Every day, more than 160 individuals depend on TPI for housing, personal care, clinical support, and encouragement to pursue fuller lives. And every day, we witness moments of independence, joy, and connection that remind us why this work matters — and why protecting it is essential.

  • A young man earned his driver’s license and now drives his own car to work.

  • Several residents participated in art therapy groups, with their work being displayed in the gallery at the local community theater, and featured in TPI’s 2026 Calendar.

  • An individual with severe anxiety has been making extraordinary progress and is now more comfortable taking part in activities with peers across programs, including trick or treating and our annual Family Day.

These moments don’t happen by accident. They happen because someone believes in the people we serve, shows up for them, and sticks with them, no matter what obstacles stand in the way. That’s what TPI has done for fifty years — and what I’m asking you to do today.

Will you make a gift of $25, $50, $100 or more today, so that people with disabilities can continue living full, connected, and independent lives — no matter what challenges the day brings?

With gratitude,

Alan J. Klein
